I’m taking on the London Marathon to help raise £150,000 for The Myton Hospices. That money could fund the running (no pun intended...) costs of the Warwick Inpatient Unit for a month. Please sponsor me today to help #teammyton!

Running 26.2 miles through the streets of London on Saturday 24th April 2027 will be one of the biggest challenges I have ever taken on. It will mean months of training, early mornings, long runs, tired legs, and plenty of determination before I even reach the start line.

For me, the finish line will mark the end of one incredible day. For many of the people cared for by The Myton Hospices and their loved ones, their challenge continues long after the crowds have gone home. If running 26.2 miles can help make that journey a little easier, then every step, every early morning, and every aching muscle will have been worth it. If my training and race day can help make even the smallest difference to those receiving care from The Myton Hospices, then every step will be worth it.

I've heard so much about the incredible work that The Myton Hospices do. Thankfully, I haven't needed to rely on their services personally, but I know that if the day ever came when I or someone close to me needed their care, I would want those services to be there. That's why I want to do my bit now to help ensure Myton can continue supporting local families when they need it most.

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families, both in its Inpatient Units and out in the community.

It costs over £15 million every year to provide these services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. As a charity, with less than 20% of its funding coming from the NHS, Myton must raise more than £12 million each year to continue delivering this vital care.

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed and, tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one. As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That is why I'm taking on the London Marathon in 2027. Every training run, every early morning, and every mile on race day will be driven by the hope of helping ensure that The Myton Hospices can continue to be there for everyone who needs them, both now and in the future.

Together, we're aiming to raise £150,000. It's an ambitious target, but with your support, I'm confident we can help make it happen.

Here are just a few examples of what your donation could help fund:

  • £94 could fund one adult counselling session.
  • £360 could fund Myton at Home for one patient for one day.
  • £450 could fund an Inpatient Bed for one day.
  • £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient.

If you're able to, please consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help The Myton Hospices continue providing compassionate care, comfort, and dignity to people and families across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Thank you so much for your support. Together, we can help ensure that when local families need The Myton Hospices most, they'll be there—and that makes every single mile worthwhile!
