I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk to help raise £250,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!
We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!
The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.
To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.
They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.
More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.
As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.
That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.
To reach this year’s Moonlight Walk target of £250,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

Trekking the Himalayas for Myton Hospice
Wednesday 25th FebIn October, I swapped the salon floor for the foothills of the Himalayas and took on the Dalai Lama Trek in India, raising funds for Myton Hospice – a charity incredibly close to our hearts at Headmasters.
Myton has cared for many of our family, friends and clients over the years. When you see first-hand the comfort, dignity and kindness they give people at the hardest time in their lives, it changes you. Supporting them felt deeply personal.
Nothing quite prepares you for the Himalayas.
The sights were breathtaking in every sense of the word. Vast mountain ranges stretching endlessly into misty skies. Colourful prayer flags dancing in the wind. Tiny villages perched on steep hillsides. Monks in deep maroon robes moving quietly through temples scented with incense. It was spiritual, humbling and beautiful beyond words.
And then there was the walking.
Hours and hours each day. Steep ascents that seemed never-ending. Rocky paths underfoot. Thinner air as we climbed higher. Early starts, basic accommodation, very little sleep and bodies that ached in places we didn’t know existed. It was gruelling at times. There were moments where you just focused on the next step, not the summit.
But that was the point.
When it felt tough, I reminded myself why we were there. Myton supports families through challenges far greater than sore legs or a sleepless night. That perspective carried me through every climb.
The experience raised over £2,500 personally, contributing to a much bigger total for Myton of over £115,000.00
But more than the fundraising, it reminded me how powerful community can be. When people come together with heart and purpose, incredible things happen.
I came home exhausted, emotional and unbelievably grateful.
Grateful for my health.
Grateful for the support behind me.
And grateful that we could give something back to a hospice that gives so much to so many.
So now we have decided as a team that we will continue to support this amazing charity.
If you’d like to support Myton Hospice and help them continue the extraordinary care they give to local families, I would be so grateful for your sponsorship.
Every donation – big or small – genuinely makes a difference. It helps provide comfort, dignity and specialist care when it’s needed most.
Thank you for backing this challenge, for cheering me on from home, and for supporting a charity that means so much to our community.
