We're taking on The Myton Hospices Walk for Myton in memory of Sarah Stansfield!

On 3rd August, we sadly lost Luke's wonderful mum Sarah, at just 57 years old, following her long and incredibly brave battle with cancer. On Sunday 20th September, Luke and I will be taking part in the 6 mile Walk for Myton in memory of her.

Sarah was a huge part of our lives, deeply loved and will be missed more than words can really say. Myton Hospice cared for Sarah during the final days of her life, and it is difficult to put into words just how much their care meant to us. At an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time, they treated Sarah with such compassion, dignity and kindness, making sure she was comfortable and surrounded by the people who loved her.

So, we wanted to do something in Sarah's memory that could help Myton continue to be there for other families when they need them most.

And apparently, we decided that something would be walking six miles.

Now, anyone who knows me will understand the significance of this. I do not walk anywhere if there is a perfectly good car available… A leisurely stroll is not my idea of leisure and six miles if frankly an outrageous distance to travel without some form of engine.

But for Sarah, I'll walk every single one of them.

Myton provides specialist palliative care and end-of-life care for people across Coventry & Warwickshire, as well as supporting their families through some of the most difficult moments imaginable. Their care is provided free of charge, but as a charity they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to continue providing these vital services.

Having now experienced first-hand just how important that care is, this is something incredibly close to both of our hearts,

Every penny we raise will be in Sarah's memory and will help Myton continue giving others the same compassion, dignity, comfort and care they gave to her.

We'll be walking those six miles thinking of Sarah every step of the way.

She was so loved, so very missed and this one is entirely for her 💗
