☀️ Who can take part in this year's Walk for Myton?
Everyone can take part in this family friendly event!
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a paying participating adult.
The 3 and 6 mile routes are both wheelchair and pushchair friendly.
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely! All well behaved dogs are more than welcome to take part in Walk for Myton too!
📅 When and where is the Walk for Myton taking place?
Walk for Myton is taking place on Sunday 20th September and starts and finishes at Warwick Myton Hospice, Myton Lane, Warwick, CV34 6PX.
Registration opens at 8am and closes at 11am. Check-in will take place under the large red gazebo in the front car park.
Set-off times for each route are:
- Half Marathon Route. Set off between 8am and 9am
- 6 Mile Route. Set off between 9.30am and 10.30am
- 3 Mile Route. Set off between 10.30am and 11am
All participants will need to check in on the day before starting their walk.
🏃♀️ What are the distances?
There are three route options to choose from, so whether you want a gentle stroll or more of a challenge, there is something for everyone:
3 mile route
A relaxed and sociable walk, ideal for families, friends and anyone looking for a gentler option. This route takes around 1 hour to complete and is wheelchair and pushchair friendly.
6 mile route
A more challenging route that follows scenic canal paths and passes through Jephson Gardens. It takes around 2 hours to complete and is also wheelchair and pushchair friendly.
Half Marathon. 13.1 mile route
Perfect for those wanting to really push themselves. This longer route takes in canal paths, rolling countryside and the picturesque village of Offchurch, and takes around 4.5 hours to complete. Please note, this route includes stiles and uneven terrain, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
All routes start and finish at Warwick Myton Hospice and will be clearly signposted, with volunteer marshals supporting walkers along the way.

♿ Are the routes accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs?
Yes. The 3 mile and 6 mile routes are both wheelchair and pushchair friendly, so they are great options for families and for anyone who needs a more accessible route.
The Half Marathon route (13.1 miles) is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs because it is cross-country and includes stiles and uneven terrain.
Whether you're joining with little ones in tow or taking part in a wheelchair yourself, you’ll be able to join in the fun with ease.

🕘 What is the schedule for the day?
Walk for Myton takes place on Sunday 20th September at Warwick Myton Hospice, Myton Lane, Warwick, CV34 6PX.
Here’s the schedule for the day:
8am
Registration opens.
8am - 9am
Half Marathon walkers can set off.
9.30am - 10.30am
6 mile walkers can set off.
10.30am - 11am
3 mile walkers can set off.
11am
Registration closes, and entertainment begins in the hospice grounds. After completing your walk, you can enjoy live performances, BBQ food, refreshments, ice cream, and a well-earned drink.
All participants must check in on the day under the large red gazebo in the front car park before starting their walk.
🎟️ What are the entry fees?
It costs £9 for adults and £5 for children to take part in Walk for Myton.
Your entry fee includes access to the event and a Walk for Myton medal for everyone who completes the walk.

Everyone who raises the suggested £30 minimum sponsorship will receive an exclusive 2026 Walk for Myton T-shirt as a thank you for your support.

🧒 Can children take part?
Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome to take part!

🐶 Can my dog join the event?

🏅 Will I receive a medal?
Yes. Everyone who takes part will receive an exclusive Walk for Myton medal at the finish line to celebrate your achievements and mark the occasion in style.
💜 What’s the suggested fundraising target?
No, there is no minimum sponsorship requirement to take part. However, we suggest raising at least £30, which could pay for one hour of specialist nursing care.
This year, we’re aiming to raise £75,000.
As a big thank you, everyone who raises £30 or more will receive an exclusive 2026 Walk for Myton T-shirt to wear with pride on the day.
✨ What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for walking. As the routes include a mix of canal towpaths, parks, public footpaths and country lanes, we recommend wearing supportive walking shoes or trainers.
You may also want to bring:
- Layers you can add or remove depending on the weather
- A waterproof jacket in case of rain
- Sun cream and a hat if it is warm
🍔 Will there be food, entertainment and toilets?
Yes. There will be plenty to enjoy on the day.
Food and drink
There will be refreshments available along the routes. All walkers will stop at Jephson Gardens, and those taking on the Half Marathon will also have an extra stop at Offchurch. At these break points, there will be snacks such as sweets, flapjacks, fruit, peanuts and croissants, along with water and squash.
After the walk, you can relax in the grounds of Warwick Myton Hospice, where there will be a BBQ, refreshment stands, ice cream, and drinks available.
Entertainment
From 11am, there will be live performances in the hospice garden, making it a lovely way to celebrate after your walk.
Toilets
Toilets will be available at Warwick Myton Hospice. Additional toilet facilities will also be available at:
- Jephson Gardens. For all routes
- Newbold Common. For the 6 mile and Half Marathon routes
- Offchurch Village Hall. For the Half Marathon route
🚘 Where can I park?
Parking will be available at Myton School and Warwick School, both of which are just a short walk from Warwick Myton Hospice.
There will be signage and volunteers to help direct you from the parking areas to the hospice.
Please note that parking spaces are limited, so if you can, please car share, walk or use public transport.
If you require accessible parking, there are several mobility parking spaces, please email the Events Team at events@mytonhospice.org
🧑⚕️ What about first aid?
Yes. There will be support in place on the day, including volunteers and event staff along the routes and at Warwick Myton Hospice.
If you need assistance at any point during the event, please speak to a marshal or member of the event team, who will be able to help.

Please take care along the route and make sure you are aware of your surroundings. In the event of an emergency do not hesitate to call 999.
📣 How can I help raise money?
You can raise money by setting up a fundraising page and encouraging your friends, family and colleagues to donate. We also welcome Facebook fundraisers – just let us know if you’ve set one up so we can link it to your total.
There’s no minimum fundraising requirement, but if you raise £30 or more, you’ll receive an exclusive Walk for Myton T-shirt as a thank you.
We’ll be with you every step of the way with handy hints and tips to help you reach your target and make a real difference to patients and families who need us.
💷 Where does my money go?
Your fundraising supports patients and their families at The Myton Hospices...
To reach this year’s Walk for Myton target of £75,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
🧣 Are carer tickets available?
Yes! We offer free carer tickets for people who need assistance to take part in our Walk for Myton.
Carers are expected to stay with you and support you throughout the event.
The person requiring assistance will need to buy a standard ticket as usual.
To arrange a free carer ticket, please email us in advance at events@mytonhospice.org with the name of your designated carer.
We’ll make sure their name is added to our registration list before the event day.
