We're taking on The Myton Hospices Walk for Myton in memory of my Mum, Sarah Stansfield!
As many of you know, on the 3rd of August, my family and I lost my Mum, Sarah, to cancer. She was only 57. It has been an incredibly difficult time, but the one thing that brought us real comfort was the unbelievable care she received at the end.
In her final days, Mum was looked after by Myton Hospice. The staff treated her with so much dignity and kindness, making sure she was completely comfortable and surrounded by family. It’s hard to properly explain how grateful we are for everything they did for her.
To say thank you, Annie and I are doing the 6-mile Walk for Myton on Sunday, 20th September.
I'm used to clocking up a fair few miles out on the golf course, but anyone who knows Annie knows she would usually take the car just to go down the street. The fact she is willingly taking on a six-mile walk without an engine tells you absolutely everything about how much my Mum meant to us both!
Myton provides this amazing specialist care across Coventry & Warwickshire completely free of charge, but they are a charity and rely entirely on donations to keep going. We want to raise as much as possible so they can continue to be a lifeline for other families going through the worst of times.
