I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk to help raise £250,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!

I am delighted and proud to be walking 5k on the Warwick Castle Moonlight Walk in aid of a local Warwickshire Myton Hospice cancer charity . The money raised will help them provide beds, treatment and care , services and support to patients and their families in end of life care.
As many of you know breast cancer has had a long-lasting impact on my own life having been diagnosed and treated twice.
Many of us have been affected or touched cancer one way or another. It may be from our own personal experience, a friend or relative or in some other way.
I'm sure most of you will know someone who has suffered from this horrible disease.

Breast cancer has now overtaken lung cancer as the most diagnosed cancer globally, though it ranks lower in total deaths due to better survival rates.
Charities are working tirelessly to support the research needed to find a cure, fund treatment and support families.
I have nothing but gratitude, admiration love and appreciation towards the cancer team and our wonderful NHS
The Oncology team and nurses have been amazing and do a fantastic job. I feel very lucky, thankful and blessed to have received wonderful fantastic care and treatment. I am still in treatment and am continuing to navigate life with my own health issues and challenges following cancer treatment and surgery.

I am really delighted to have signed up to this and hope you will be able to support me by making a small donation. You will be helping to raise money so local Myton Hospices can provide beds , essential nursing care and treatment and services and support families during the end of life of their loved ones.

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.


To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.


They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.


More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.


As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.


That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.


To reach this year’s Moonlight Walk target of £250,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
