I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk to help raise £250,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!
We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!
The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.
To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.
They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.
More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.
As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.
That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.
To reach this year’s Moonlight Walk target of £250,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

James and Our Story
Friday 20th FebWe, as a family, will be taking part in a charity walk to raise as much money as possible for our local charity, Myton Hospice, in memory of our beloved son, James.
Myton Hospice in Coventry provided exceptional care for James in his final days. They kept him calm, peaceful, and comfortable. We truly could not have asked for more. Not only did they look after James with the utmost compassion and dignity, but they also supported all of us during the most heart-breaking time of our lives.
In late August 2025, our son James, just 20 years old, was out walking and chatting with his friend as they often did. James suddenly felt unwell and shortly afterwards collapsed, suffering a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the quick actions of his friend and the ambulance service, they were able to restart his heart.
At the hospital, we were devastated to learn that James had suffered a severe hypoxic brain injury. We were told he would never recover. As a result of the injury, James experienced constant seizures that the hospital struggled to control. We were incredibly fortunate to have him transferred to Myton Hospice, where the calm and peaceful environment helped settle him and allowed him to receive the specialist care he needed to remain comfortable.
James passed away five days later, on the 3rd of September, 2025, with all of us by his side. He was treated with the greatest respect, dignity, and kindness by the entire Myton team. We will be forever grateful for the care they gave him — and us.
Their support did not end when James passed away. It continues even now, as they help us navigate our grief and adjust to life without him.
We later learned the cause of this devastating loss. James died from S.A.D.S. (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) — something rarely spoken about. Through no fault of his own, our beautiful, healthy son was suddenly taken from us.
By sharing James’s story, we hope not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness of this cruel and little-known condition.
Myton Hospice relies entirely on charitable donations to continue supporting families like ours during their darkest days. If you are able to spare anything at all, we would be deeply grateful.
Thank you so much for your support.
With love and gratitude,
