We're taking on The Myton Hospices Walk for Myton to help raise funds for this vital service which has provided so much support and care to our family.
We're doing this in memory of our beloved parents (Julia's Dad and Mike's Mum) and our boys' dear grandparents. They spent their final days at Myton Hospice and were wonderfully cared for by amazing and compassionate staff and volunteers.
The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.
It costs over £15 million every year to provide their services free of charge to their patients and their loved ones.
As a charity, with less than 20% funding coming from the NHS they must raise more than £12 million this year!
More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.
As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.
That’s why we're taking on The Myton Hospices Walk for Myton, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.
To reach this year’s Walk for Myton target of 75,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
