We are walking for Myton Hospice who have done amazing work to support family members close to all of us. This year we are doing it specifically in memory of a wonderful husband and friend to many, Tony Killian.
A few years ago we walked together in celebration of Tony, who at the time was battling cancer with such bravery and always with a smile on his face. Sadly, Tony died in 2024 and left a huge hole for many, but particularly for his wife, and our wonderful friend Lynda. This year we are walking in his memory and to celebrate his life.
The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.
It costs over £15 million every year to provide their services free of charge to their patients and their loved ones.
As a charity, with less than 20% funding coming from the NHS they must raise more than £12 million this year!
As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.
To reach this year’s Walk for Myton target of 75,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.
