The Myton Hospices

I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Santa Dash to help raise £60,000 this Christmas! Please sponsor me today!

We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.

To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.

They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Santa Dash this Christmas, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.

To reach this year’s Santa Dash target of £60,000, we rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient

Santa Dash

Hi all, having lived with terminal cancer for the last 3 years (how has it been that long?!), Myton have already supported me immensely. I have been to group classes, met others in a similar situation to myself, had counselling, had complimentary therapies and currently seeing a wellbeing nurse and physio once a month. They provide an outstanding service and really go above and beyond for all their patients.

I am completing the Santa Dash to raise money for the amazing charity. It will not be an easy feat for me, as I have fractures in my spine and am currently undergoing chemotherapy (I'm on my 8th different treatment since diagnosis and will be on some form of treatment for the rest of my life).

The 5km will definitely test me to my limits, but knowing I'm doing it for such a worthy charity will get me through. I also have a great team of people walking with me.
