I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Cycle Challenge to help raise £70,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!

We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.

To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.

They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Cycle Challenge, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.

To reach this year’s Cycle Challenge target of £70,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient

Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

Completed!

Sunday 2nd Aug

This morning I completed The Myton Hospice 50k cycling challenge, bringing my total distance to 66 km including the ride there and back. The Warwickshire countryside was at its best, and the weather was ideal after the recent heatwave. A tiring ride, but a rewarding one.

Hospices play an important role in so many lives, and Myton is a place Karen and I are proud to support. Karen has now completed five of these challenge rides, and today was my third. The event was, as always, brilliantly organised, with a welcoming atmosphere, music, a BBQ, and plenty of encouragement for every rider crossing the finish line.

I’ll share some photos soon. If you’re able to support Myton Hospice, any donation to our fundraising efforts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Back on the Bike for Myton

Wednesday 10th Jun

This year will be my third ride, and I’m really looking forward to getting back out into the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. The previous rides have been brilliant — a mix of stunning scenery, great camaraderie, and that unbeatable sense of achievement when you finally cross the finish line.

I’m riding again in support of Myton Hospice, a charity that means a great deal to so many people in our community. The hospice movement provides compassionate, dignified care at the moments when it’s needed most, not just for patients but for their families too. It’s a service that truly makes a difference.

If you’re able to support my fundraising, no matter the amount, it will help Myton continue the incredible work they do every day. Thank you for taking the time to read and for any support you can give.
