I'm taking on the Warwick Half Marathon to help raise £25,000 in aid of The Myton Hospices amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!
We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!
The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.
It costs over £15 million every year to provide their services free of charge to their patients and their loved ones.
As a charity, with less than 20% funding coming from the NHS they must raise more than £12 million this year!
More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.
As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.
That’s why I’m taking on the Warwick Half Marathon, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.
To reach this year’s target of £25,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient
Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

Running for my Mum and My Grandma: Why I’m Tackling a Half Marathon for Myton Hospice
Tuesday 6th OctRunning 13.1 miles is no small feat, but every step I take during this half marathon is driven by something far bigger than a finish line.
I’m lacing up my running shoes to raise money for The Myton Hospices, and I’m doing it in memory of two extraordinary women who shaped who I am today: my mum and my grandma.
In Memory of My Mum
In 2018, my world changed forever when my mum passed away.
Mum had a huge heart and spent her life looking after others. She had a deep passion for helping the elderly in care and was always looking for ways to uplift and support our local community. Whether it was offering a listening ear, giving her time, or advocating for those who needed a voice, she embodied what it truly meant to care.
Losing her left an unimaginable void, but her passion for helping others continues to inspire me every single day.
Why Myton Hospice?
Myton Hospice holds a very special place in our family’s heart because of the incredible care they provided for my grandma.
The warmth, compassion, and dedication shown by the staff and volunteers made a lasting difference to her comfort and well-being, as well as providing priceless reassurance to our family.
Myton Hospice relies heavily on donations to keep providing this exceptional, free care to local people and their loved ones. Running this half marathon feels like the ultimate way to honor my mum’s legacy of community support while giving back to the hospice that looked after my grandma so wonderfully.
How You Can Support
Training for 13.1 miles is tough, but knowing that every mile helps someone access compassionate hospice care keeps me moving forward.
If you are able to donate—no matter how small—it would mean the world to me and to the families who rely on Myton Hospice every day.
If you aren't in a position to donate, simply sharing this post or sending some encouragement my way means just as much.
Thank you so much for your love, support, and for helping me honor my mum and my grandma. See you at the finish line! 🏃♂️💨❤️
