I'm taking on the Warwick Half Marathon to help raise money for The Myton Hospices in memory of my Dad

I'm taking on the Warwick Half Marathon to help raise money for The Myton Hospices in memory of my Dad, who was looked after by the Hospice during his battle with cancer in 2020.

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.

It costs over £15 million every year to provide their services free of charge to their patients and their loved ones.

As a charity, with less than 20% funding coming from the NHS they must raise more than £12 million this year!

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That’s why I’m taking on the Warwick Half Marathon, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.

To reach this year’s target of £25,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient

Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

Training update - 13 October 2026

Tuesday 13th Oct
Over the past month I've ran over 200km, including one 20km run (almost the Half Marathon distance).

The days are getting shorter so I'm finding pockets of time before the day starts or in the evenings to run, as well as a weekly long run on Sunday mornings.

Thank you to everybody who has donated to the Hospice so far. Everybody has been super generous, which has made me increase the fundraising goal to £1,000. Hopefully we can get there for this amazing charity x
