I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Cycle Challenge to help raise £70,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!

We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.

To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.

They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.

To reach this year’s Cycle Challenge target of £70,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient

Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

New Motivation to Ride!

Tuesday 5th May
My blog is slightly different this year unfortunately.  In the past I have ridden the challenge in honour of my mum Janet who died of breast cancer. This year my wife Jennifer was told she had secondary breast cancer after a hip replacement. It had spread to various parts of the hips and  spine. A further CT scan showed a primary in the kidney also, but unrelated to the breast! I say all this for one thing only, not for sympathy but because this vile disease and others like it touch most of us at some time and services that Myton provide are invaluable to make the journey lighter and more tolerable for many.
I will be doing much usual 100km route and have so appreciated your support in the past for this incredible charity which totally relies on the public. Give as you can.

Thank you to my Sponsors
