I'm taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk to help raise £250,000 amid a national hospice funding crisis! Please sponsor me today!

We know that’s a lot of money, but with your support, we’re confident we can do it!

The Myton Hospices provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families - both in their Inpatient Units and out in the community.

To continue offering this care free of charge, they need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it will cost this year.

They are not the NHS - they are a charity, and just 17% of their funding comes from the NHS.

More people than ever need a Hospice Bed, and tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

As the only provider of Hospice Inpatient Beds in Coventry and Warwickshire, the demand is huge.

That’s why I’m taking on The Myton Hospices Moonlight Walk, to raise money so they can be there for everyone who needs them, now and in the future.

To reach this year’s Moonlight Walk target of £250,000, they rely entirely on sponsorship, and that’s where you come in. Just look at what your support could help fund:

• £94 could fund one adult counselling session
• £360 could fund our Myton at Home service for a patient for one day
• £450 could fund an Inpatient bed for one day
• £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient

Please donate today and help The Myton Hospices be there for those who need them most.

what myton did for me

Tuesday 20th Jan
Nothing prepares you for the moment you realise you’re about to lose a parent.
When my dad reached the final days of his life, I was completely on my own. The weight of responsibility, the fear of doing something wrong, and the overwhelming sadness felt unbearable at times. I wanted more than anything to make sure he was comfortable, safe, and cared for with dignity — but I didn’t know how I could possibly manage it alone.
That’s when Myton Hospice stepped in, and I will never be able to fully put into words how much they meant to me.
From the very beginning, they treated both my dad and me with kindness, patience, and understanding. They didn’t just see a patient — they saw a family, a daughter trying to be strong, and a man who deserved peace and compassion in his final moments.
The nurses and carers were incredible. They explained everything calmly and clearly, never making me feel foolish for asking questions or needing reassurance. In moments when I felt panicked or unsure, they were there — steady, gentle, and completely supportive. Knowing I could call someone and be met with care rather than judgment made all the difference.
What meant the most to me was that they didn’t just care for my dad — they cared for me too. They understood how isolating it is to go through something like this alone. Sometimes it was a quiet conversation, sometimes a reassuring presence, sometimes just someone telling me I was doing the best I could. Those small moments of human connection carried me through the hardest days of my life.
Because of Myton Hospice, my dad was comfortable and treated with dignity in his final days. Because of them, I wasn’t truly alone, even when it felt like the world had stopped. They gave me the confidence and support I needed to be there for my dad in the way he deserved.
Losing him will always hurt, but I will forever be grateful that his final days were filled with care, respect, and compassion. Myton Hospice gave us that gift.
I hope that by sharing my experience, others will understand just how vital hospices like Myton are. They don’t just provide medical care — they provide humanity, comfort, and hope during the darkest moments.
Thank you, Myton Hospice, from the bottom of my heart.
